Learning outcomes

The blended-intensive program is designed to build a comprehensive understanding of the contemporary digital platform ecosystem, beginning with an exploration of the diversity of platforms, including social media, generative AI, transaction-based services, and streaming infrastructures. It examines the far-reaching influence of major technology companies on social, political, and economic life, while also unpacking how these companies exercise governance and how they themselves are regulated, with attention to evolving future governance models. Particular focus is placed on key European regulatory frameworks such as the Digital Services Act, Digital Markets Act, and AI Act.

Throughout the BIP, participants develop the ability to critically assess power relations between digital platforms and users or societies, and to formulate evidence-based responses to platform-related challenges through applied case studies. In parallel, the BIP strengthens key academic and professional skills, including writing effective policy briefs, transforming research questions into structured written outputs, delivering clear and persuasive presentations, and collaborating effectively within transnational and interdisciplinary teams.
